The society in this story is a Utopia. In the book the society is hidden from a lot of things that are "unpefect" The social aspect on this book is flabbergasting. In the book Jonas is prestented with two ideas or a moral or just socierty. The first on is obviously the uptopia he's grown up in, and the second is a sociey like ours, which the giver shows him through memories. When Jonas really hits a climax of what society makes more sense is after he finds out what lovei is. After he has a memory of love given to him by the Giver, he goes home to ask his father if he loves him. When his father says no, he does not love if but rather just enjoys his presence, Jonas's mind is set. He is frusterated with the fact that no body else around him understands him and no one knows or can know, the things he knows,Throughout the book there is a strong message of the soceity and how different it is from ours today. Reading something in the perspecive of a different social layout, is very intresting but at times also very frusterating. Things we think are moral and fair are often overlooked in the book and at times you feel for the charcter as he is angered and upset over things he once looked at as okay. Overall, "The Giver" is the perfect book to read if you are looking for something full of socail commentary because there is no doubt that this book if full of it.
